
Mathura, 2014.10.08: Cinestar and Member of Parliament Hema Malini will dance for the Karttik Mahotsava in Vrindavan. The three- day dance celebration will be organized in December to get international recognition for Vrindavan.
Yesterday she made known publicly her desire to organize a grand “Karttik Celebration in Vraja” to attract the world’s attention to the Dham. The original intention was to have it take place on November 6-8, but due to her party responsibilities in the Maharashtra elections, the dates had to be changed. She will now perform with local artists on Karttik Purnima, November 6, and the grand celebration will follow in December.
She met Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, to inform him about the Karttik Celebration event. During the meeting with the CM she also discussed development plans for Vraja.
Ten acres of land in front of the Hasanand Gochar Bhumi between Mathura and Vrindavan has been selected as the site of this event. Hema researched dozens of places before making her decision for the event site.
Devotionally, the holy month of Karttik is very important for Hema Malini. She made frequent visits to Vraja during this auspicious month long even before being elected as Member of the Loka Sabha from the Mathura constituency.
Hema’s birthday, October 16th, also come in Karttik month, which makes it more special for her.
Hema Malini’s assistant in Mathura, Shri Janardan Sharma, informed the media that she will stay in Mathura for three days, October 16-18 October in order to celebrate her birthday in the divine abode of Vraja. She has plans to meet the people of her constituency during her stay.
